R14 — World v2

Traduction à venir

Hi Creatifriends,

This is it! This is the update you’ve all been waiting for. We’ve crammed as many new biomes, creatures and cool things as we could fit into this update. Then we threw in a few more for good measure. Rather than give you a wall of text summarizing everything, we’ll just make three points before diving into the patch notes…

R13 – Blocs Dragon et amélioration de la simulation

Hi Creatifriends,

Guess what? It’s R13 time! This update gives you the fancy new Drago blocks, which harness the beauty of the lava layer with striking grace. See for yourself…

There are also a bunch of improvements to our simulation system, which means performance will be much smoother when working with liquid or the corruption layer. And make sure to give TNT another chance to dazzle you as the sound, explosion and damage are now synced — just like in real life! We can’t wait to see the pics you guys post of entire continents blown to smithereens!

How’s it going with those new biomes, you ask? Swimmingly! But it’s taking us a bit longer than expected. We appreciate your patience as we work hard to get things just right. (We’ll share some footage from world v2 soon to give you a glimpse of what we have in store).

Here are the patch notes…

R12 – Bugfixes (and new doors!)

Hey Creatifriends,

R12 is just a small bugfix update – though there are a couple of fancy-looking new doors for the builders! You should also see some performance improvements, as well as a fix for the AI not attacking properly that we introduced in R11 (whoops!)

We’ve had a huge influx of new players over the last week, mostly from Europe. Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on some significant server fixes. Even with the larger population, you should be seeing improved server performance and connectivity, and fewer cases of worlds getting into bad states.

The patch notes are below. Happy building!

R11 — UI Overhaul, Fuel System, Account-Bound Recipes

Hey Creatifriends,

You have a decent amount of new stuff to play with in the R11. You’ll notice a big difference as soon as you enter a world. The UI has been expanded, streamlined and polished with our best Keepa oil. It affects everything — crafting, the HUD, mining, storage — making the game much more smooth and satisfying to play. We also added something we’ve been planning on from the beginning: a fuel system for the forge. We think it adds a fun layer of strategy to crafting, but don’t let that stop you from letting us know what you think.

Based on popular feedback, we decided to enable account-bound recipes. This means you can now bring recipes you’ve found or unlocked in your home world to others, giving you more freedom to venture out into other worlds without having to go through the recipe progression every time.

Finally, we threw a few extra things in there just for good measure: Hotfoot just got deadlier — get too close and he’ll light you on fire. Corrupt mobs also do extra damage if you get too close (introverts hate when you invade their personal space, after all). And of course, there’s always the usual helping of the entrails of bugs we’ve squashed. Thanks for all your help finding them, by the way!

Also, we tried something new this time: a short preview video that goes beyond the patch notes with a few extra details and context (some secrets, too). Watch it here:

New blocks, sun shafts in R10

Hi Creatifriends,

R10 adds six new blocks to the builder’s repertoire. Some are only found in rare treasure chests, others are unlocked through the normal game progression. Check out the fancy new tourmaline and diamond glass blocks.

The sun has gotten stronger, now piercing through the trees with bright shafts of light. Just another one of our many layers of polish to beautify the world of Creativerse.

Also, we realize the last couple updates have been on the lighter side (and R11 may be as well), but that’s because we’ve been busy working on some very big, exciting new features. We wanted to give you guys a sneak preview of some of the stuff you can look forward to seeing in the next couple months.

First, we have a whole new version of the Creativerse world in the works, with existing biomes being expanded and entirely new biomes created. Along with that will come a host of new creatures, blocks and recipe tweak to incorporate all the new stuff. Plus, actual continents and oceans! Take a look at some early screenshots.

We also have an overhaul of the crafting system UI, making it easier and more intuitive to use, a snazzy new main menu screen, plus a bunch of other stuff we can’t even talk about yet. Can’t wait for you guys to see it!

Finally, here’s the full patch notes for R10…

R9 — Key re-mapping and bug squashing

Creatifriends!

Happy new year! It’s time for R9. Since we took the holidays off, this is going to be on the lighter side as far as releases go. There’s only one new feature — though it’s an often requested one — key re-mapping.

But there are also a bunch of improvements and bug fixes. For example, one improvement, suggested by the community: visitors will no longer be harmed by mobs. In fact, most of the additions and fixes in this update came from player suggestions and bug reports. We really do appreciate all the help you guys give us. Keep it coming! Our forums are this way.

Here are the release notes…

Climb to great heights in Creativerse R8

Hi Creatifriends,

By popular request, R8 add ladders to Creativerse — stone and wood variety. Craft a bunch and take ‘em with you next time you go caving for easy access to the surface. Or build an awesome fort in the trees. Just make sure if you’re gonna fall off a 100ft ladder, you only fall off the first rung.

Also, we’ve got a new batch of blocks for you guys to decorate with. This is from our “Moroccan” themed collection, featuring blocks crafted from stalactite layer materials such as the Siltstone Wall — finally a use for all that extra siltstone you’ve been gathering! Plus, Reinforced Glass, Iron Walls and for extra fancy builds, Curled Iron Walls.

Lastly, we have world options that should help keep things civil on public worlds: the ability to make all new players default to visitor permissions, as well as the ability to turn off PVP and Bombs. It’s a big blow to all the griefers out there.

As always, let us know what you think of all this new stuff!

P.S. just a heads up: this will be our last update of 2014 and we will be taking a few weeks off for the holidays, so R9 won’t release until mid-January. Thanks for your patience, guys!

R7: The Dawn of the Rise of the Planet of the Female Avatar

Creatifriends!

We’re back with another exciting update, R7. First up, now you finally have the choice to play as a female in Creativerse! Time to get in touch with your feminine side and start adventuring with an extra X chromosome (digitally speaking, of course). Speaking of characters, I’ll give a shout out to customization — we know a lot of you want it, so I wanted to mention it is on our roadmap (could be a while, though — so much to get done first!).

By popular request, we’ve added signs! You can craft and place wooden signs to display all your deepest hopes, fears and desires. Or maybe just a big “MY STUFF – KEEP OUT!” warning. But we didn’t stop there. We also added labels for teleporters and chests, which should come in handy for those of you who like to set up chest rooms made entirely of chests.

This update also introduces the first round of admin tools we’ve been promising for a while now. Worlds now have owners, who can promote players to admins, mods, builders or visitors. Those with appropriate privileges can mute, kick or even ban troublesome players. It’s the beginning of a larger system we plan to roll out which will give you full control of your world and let you open it up to anyone without risking griefer chaos.

For our builders, while we don’t have any new standard blocks this time (next time — promise!), we do have some new windows, including stone and barred varieties for sending a message in rougher neighborhoods.

Lastly, don’t miss the new death animation. We know you’ll be dying to check it out! Hahaha…I’m so, so sorry.

Thanks for being awesome!

Come Hunt for Keepa and Arcstones in Creativerse R6

Greetings Creatifriends!

As promised, R6 is a big update.

We’re most excited for you to meet Keepa, a new mob who’s found his way into your worlds (and our hearts). He’s rare, though, so you’ll have to figure out how to bump into him.

He’s also hoarding a new type of resource — the super shiny Arcstones! Arcstones are used in a whole slew of new craftable items, so be prepared for a lot of close encounters with the Keepa creepa if you want to deck your halls with, say, Grand Arc Lanterns.

You’ll see the beginnings of a new buff system in this update. Once you’ve crafted and knocked back a few questionably smelly potions, you’ll know what we’re talking about. Try walking around the corruption layer after imbibing the mysteriously named “Corruption Resistance Potion” and see what we mean.

For you builders out there, check out the new Romanesque blocks. Finally, you can put all that limestone and bedrock to good use and build the city of your dreams. No really, please build the city of your dreams and decorate our community hub with screenshots. We love seeing that stuff!

Enjoy and as always — let us know what you think!

P.S. We finally fixed the mouse wheel so you can scroll through your hot bar instead of having to manually punch in numbers like some kind of troglodyte.
